5/12/2012

The leading European airline today landed for the first time at Pula Airport launching regular scheduled operations to Lufthansa’s Munich hub during summer. The airline will operate once weekly services from Pula to the Bavarian capital with a Bombardier Q-400 operated by Augsburg Airways, offering 76 seats in a Business and Economy Class configuration. During the month of August, flights will be complemented by an additional Sunday flight.

Mr. Georg Lazzari, Lufthansa General Manager for Croatia said :
“This new flight on the one hand represents enhanced travel options for incoming visitors from all over Europe here to Pula. On the other hand we are now able to link the Istria region with convenient flights directly to one of Germany’s most attractive tourist and business destinations as well as many seamless connections into our extensive global network via our Munich hub. We hope to further contribute to the growth of the local economy, mainly the tourism sector, with our flights.”

Lufthansa’s captain was given the honour to cut both the ribbon and the cake when the airline arrived in Pula in Croatia from Munich. Joining the pilot were Bruno Rogovic, GM Pula Airport, and Georg Lazzari, Lufthansa’s GM Croatia.
